// About Adventureworks
Adventureworks is part of Jagged Globe Ltd. Established in 1987, Jagged Globe is recognised as a world-leader in the provision of expeditions, courses and treks and was the first British company to run guided expeditions to climb Mount Everest.

This expertise in operating high quality expeditions to the world's highest mountains, and managing risk in extreme environments, was applied to School Groups as early as 1988, with expeditions to India and Nepal. The name 'Adventureworks' was born in 2001 and since then, more and more schools have chosen Adventureworks to partner them in the organisation of their expeditions.

More experienced leaders
Adventureworks only uses highly experienced and qualified expedition leaders, who have a proven track record of leading groups of young people. The vast majority of our expedition leaders hold qualifications that are recognised nationally or internationally as benchmarks for leading groups. Your expedition leader meets parents and students and he or she is involved in the preparation and training stages of the expedition.

Our safety systems are second to none
Adventureworks conducts thorough risk assessments for all expeditions and our expedition leaders are experts in assessing and managing risks on the ground. When out of reach of domestic telephone systems, expeditions carry a satellite telephone. We manage risk carefully, without diminishing the experience for the students. Adventureworks has a 24-hour emergency and incident management system, and is also able to make last-minute changes to your expedition, in light of any Foreign Office advice, that may affect your expedition destination or itinerary. We have a Company Doctor in the UK, who is available to discuss any medical issues with students, parents and teachers, prior to and during the expedition.

Assistance from Regional Coordinators
In addition to support from highly trained staff in our UK office, Adventureworks' team of Regional Coordinators looks after a number of schools within a geographical area. Our Regional Coordinators have extensive knowledge of the countries that we visit and our safety systems because they regularly lead expeditions themselves. Your Regional Coordinator will help you devise a suitable expedition programme that meets you and your school's aspirations, as well as assisting with your in-school promotion and the administration of your expedition, before you leave.

Our expedition programmes are flexible
Our ethos is that the challenge and the rewards for students taking part in our overseas expeditions should be achieved through the quality of the programme. This may be an itinerary that we run regularly and which follows a tried and tested schedule, or you may like to develop a more customised programme. We offer a wide range of destinations across the globe, to stimulate you and your students, to suit the time available and your budget. The amount of pre-expedition training may vary, depending upon the nature of the expedition. We aim to ensure that students are involved fully in the expedition planning and execution, taking on various roles and responsibilities before and during the expedition... [more]
