Greenland, 3 kbSeason – July - August
Duration– 14 - 28 day expeditions

Greenland is the largest island in the World, and 80% of it is covered by the World's second largest icecap, thousands of metres thick but thought to be getting smaller as temperatures rise. A narrow ice-free coastal fringe presents a mountainous and sparsely populated land, barely ever trodden by human feet and still unexplored in places. It is truly one of the World's last great wildernesses. Travelling from Europe, it would be difficult to find a landscape and lifestyle more utterly different.

Our expedition shall be based from the small settlement of Kulusuk, home to about 300 people. This is a place like no other. We shall explore a world of dramatic winding fjords filled with giant icebergs, towering peaks and jagged ridges, enormous glaciers reaching down into the sea, deep valleys with crystal-clear salmon streams and, in summer, almost 24 hour light and warm sunny days. Journeys can be made either trekking across the Tundra or sea kayaking along the fjords.

This is a true Arctic wilderness, and uniquely it is home to a remarkable community that have adapted to its harsh beauty with infinite skill. We have the opportunity to visit this community and enjoy time learning about their way of life so utterly different to our own.
