Teacher familiarisation weekend (2nd May)
[Workshop group at the teacher weekend, 17 kb]On 27-29 April 2007 Adventureworks held a weekend in the Peak District at Thornbridge Outdoors for teachers organising Overseas Expeditions in 2007, 2008 and beyond.

The aim of the weekend was to familiarisation the staff with the whole expedition process from the initial launch to the expedition. The programme included Leader Team roles and responsibilities, incident management and scenarios as well as workshops on first aid and medical kits, communications and equipment.

There was also an opportunity to take on the challenges of the Sky Ropes course. The day finished with a meal and an inspirational lecture by Adele Pennington on climbing in Antarctica

The weekend was a great opportunity for everyone to meet the Adventureworks team and also talk to other teachers about expeditions and swap stories and destination ideas!

The weekend was rounded off on Sunday with a days climbing at Birchins in the sunshine. Some photos can be seen here.
