Letter of thanks from Clarita Luz Children's Home, Ecuador (20th Aug)
Thanks to Adventure Works, this summer 5 student voluntary groups have
visited the children’s home Clarita Luz in Ecuador. Approximately 100
students, teachers and Adventure Work guides have done a fantastic job.
All together the schools raised almost 7000 dollars for the reconstruction
and expansion of Casa Aaron, the main house in Clarita Luz. This project
will increase the capacity from 15 to 30 children.
After climbing and / or trekking in Ecuador it was amazing to see how much
energy the students had left. More then enough to make cement, take off wall
coatings and to put up new walls.
Creativity has been amazing! Inspiration did not fail! Thanks to all groups
there has been a complete redesign of the playground. The kids in Clarita
Luz now have a climbing ramp up to the tree house, two climbing frames with
monkey bars, a hop scotch and a slide.
All groups had excellent painting skills: they gave a different look to
tables, cupboards, mirrors and playhouses. Clarita Luz is now far more
colorful.
But most important of all was the interaction with our children. The Clarita
Luz kids have made new friends, which they will never forget.
In the name of all children, STUDENTS, TEACHERS AND GUIDES THANK YOU SO
MUCH!!!
