EVAC Safety Badges and EPA Code of Practice (10th Jan)
One of the aims of the Governments Learning Outside of the Classroom Manifesto is to introduce a ‘Safety Badge’ scheme to help schools easily identify third party Providers whose operating procedures match the standards set down by EVAC (Educational Visits Advisory Committee).
As a first step to this the Expedition Providers Association (EPA) has agreed the Code of Practice in September 2007 – please visit our website to view the Code. Mike Rosser, Head of Adventureworks, is part of EPA and has been fully involved in the development of the code of practice. During 2008 EVAC will approve a scheme of inspection for EPA members and this will lead to the holding of the full Safety Badge.
