Roger Black at Ash Manor School (18th May)
[Ash Manor School Morocco team and Roger Black during a fundraising event, 1 kb]The team from Ash Manor School who are travelling to Morocco this summer, held a hugely successful fundraising event at their school a few weeks ago. They invited Roger Black, Olympic medal holder and UK athletics hero, to speak to an audience and hold an auction. The event raised over £2000 to go towards their expedition where they will be trekking through the High Atlas Mountains and attempting to summit Djebel Toubkal 4,165m.

Many of our teams hold similar events with speakers provided by Adventureworks. David Pickford is the most recent addition. A renowned climber, he introduces young people to adventure travel and extreme sports such as climbing, mountaineering, and skiing through exciting stories, photographs, and film footage from around the world.
Adele Pennington regales tales of the last 12 months in which she has become Britons foremost female high altitude mountaineer. She is currently leading an expedition to Mount Everest and should be reaching the summit in the next 3 days.
Rhys Jones is also available to schools. In 2006 he became the youngest person to reach the summit of the highest peak on each continent, doing so on his 20th birthday. Since then he has completed other challenges including crossing Greenland and sailing down the Mississippi River in a paper boat!

For more information on any of our speakers and how they can assist you in raising funds for your expedition, please contact Tessa on 0845 345 8850 or email info@adventureworks.co.uk
