The British School of Paris enjoyed a stunning two-week trip in Ecuador. The first phase was spent trekking between Quito and the Cotopaxi National Park. This 5 day journey saw the summits of Pasachoa (4200m) and Ruminahui (4300m) being scaled and the climber’s refuge (4800m) on Cotopaxi reached by everyone in the group. Fantastic trekking through gorges, over passes and for some to summits made the first phases highly successful and enjoyable for all!
The second phase saw the group undertake some major building projects in Clarita Luz, a children’s home in Ambato. Two concrete floors were laid, two roofs put in place, two large playhouses constructed and decorated. A sand pit, barbecue area, swings and see-saw all stripped down and restored. A very rewarding week’s work with some very emotional farewells made at the end of our stay.
All in all, a great expedition, with cowboys, condors, wild horses and spectacular scenery encountered along the way.
